A daring rescue. A difficult choice.

Sophie desperately wants to get away from her stepmother’s jealousy, and believes escape is her only chance to be happy. Then a young man named Gabe arrives from Hagenheim Castle, claiming she is betrothed to his older brother, and everything twists upside down. This could be Sophie’s one chance at freedom—but can she trust another person to keep her safe?

Gabe defied his parents Rose and Wilhelm by going to find Sophie, and now he believes they had a right to worry: the girl’s inner and outer beauty has enchanted him. Though romance is impossible—she is his brother’s future wife, and Gabe himself is betrothed to someone else—he promises himself he will see the mission through, no matter what.

When the pair flee to the Cottage of the Seven, they find help—but also find their feelings for each other have grown. Now both must not only protect each other from the dangers around them—they must also protect their hearts.

This was not a really great one a really fun, lighthearted one and still action packed and great romance and good characters and faith building aspects. Highly recommend!

This one was SO fun!

I really like how the author takes the tale of Snow White and gives her own rendition as if her historical fiction were the origin of the tale. It's very interesting and well-thought.

If I could change anything, it would be a slight tweak in the performance of the narrator. She has a nice femenine voice but she over-does it when performing the character of Sophie. She makes Sophie sound more like a child than a young woman. It's different from the voices she uses for the other female protagonists in other books by this author and it's a little distracting.

Great rendition but would change the performance a little bit

This story was a good one I have loved all the ones by Melanie Dickerson. The voice actress did great portrayal of the tone that is well known to be high pitched for the character.

Another classic ❤️

Can’t wait till a new series comes out! The reading is always exciting with never slow boring moments and not overly dramatic that it isn’t realistic. Jude Mason’s voice is one of my favorites.

Love her books!
