Tommy McElroy has always found himself in the middle of situations that would paralyze and destroy most people. He is constantly called upon to find last-minute solutions to impossible problems by his superiors. They didn’t care how he fixed the problem, only that the problem got fixed.

Tommy stood in the shower reflecting on this and other memories when a familiar feeling started to stir in his gut, until his wife broke his thoughts. When she entered the shower, she gave him a soft touch and kiss that broke the spell he was under. She is the love of his life and without his chaotic life he would have never found her. Even now as they held each other, he once again felt this familiar disturbance that always meant he would have to use his skills to protect the family.

Now that the word has leaked out of Washington about a CME hitting Earth. The countdown has begun, and little did Tommy know how accurate his gut was. When Tommy gets the orders from the Brain Trust about the CME, he knows he will have to become something he thought he would never have to become again.

This is a different kind of scenario getting ready for a CME. This is also a new author to me. I like the author’s style of writing.

This story rolls along quickly as our protagonist, a young military guy, works with a group of quite interesting soldiers and others to prepare for an imminent CME. The big twist to this story is HOW he prepares and who all is involved. It’s a very different tale from the usual prepper stories and very interesting. Looking forward to the next book (and would really appreciate a live narrator. These characters deserve one.)

I really liked this book. I enjoyed how the characters built the farm into a fortress . Everything that went into it. The virtual narrative wasn’t as terrible as it usually is. Love to read more on The Farm.
