First thing I want to get out of the way due to confusion the cover caused in my reading group once selected: This is not a romance story or smutty in any way.

That done, this story was a fun, slice of life, fantasy read/listen. It’s got a wild start and a few wtf moments but is fun. Enjoyed the narrator as well, she lent the perfect voice to our female MC Kadia.

Ticked off at amazon requiring a written review. I have stopped leaving star book reviews due to the required written review. But this book requires it. The book has a few cringe moments and issues with the guild that ticks me off.

Okay, I know this is a rather small book with few reviews but, this book is definitely worth the 16 hours of your life it demands. The main character is actually fun, with interesting supporting characters and best of all. The book doesn’t take itself too seriously leaving room for actual humor. There’s a part where some of the characters fall into a pit trap, and instead of everyone going all “woe is me, this is the end of the world” they mostly start joking with each other (the pit trap is full of flammable goo btw) it’s definitely worth the credit.
