When Danielle Boatman inherits Marlow House, she dreams of turning it into a seaside bed and breakfast. Since she's never visited the property, Danielle's not sure what awaits her in Oregon. She certainly doesn't expect to find one of the house's previous owners still in residence. After all, the man has been dead for almost 90 years - shouldn't he have moved on by now?

Charming Walt Marlow convinces Danielle the only way he can move on is if she solves the mystery of his death. Danielle soon discovers her real problems may come from the living - those who have their sights on Marlow House's other secrets.

The characters and story are enjoyable, with a decent mystery, and very interesting historical facts. I would give it a five-star if it were not for the female narrator. Her two female protagonists have identical voices, but that's not really a problem, because of all the Danielle said and sidekick said, which keeps listeners on track. While appreciated in the Audible version, I can't help but wonder if the written version would have driven me crazy. Worst of all, the narrator's voice occasionally screeches for no reason at all. I stomached it because it wasn't too often and I liked the story, but every screech made me wince.

A cozy ghost story with somewhat poor narration

this audiobook was interesting, but I won't be continuing the series. t
The narration made it difficult to know who was speaking. Lily sounded like a teenager, not a woman.

narration bust

I enjoyed this audio book enough to look for another by the same author.
It was a free one sonI tried it as when these books are offered this way , you can almost always count on them being of excellent quality.
I enjoyed the tiny mystery of trying to find out who the “bad guys “ were, while keeping the ghost character going .
The book was done in good taste with a subtle attraction between the main character and Mr. Marlow.
I am looking forward to a possible sequel.
