Josephine Prescott has endured the weight of an unwanted betrothal and her father’s tyranny each day, tightening the chains around her spirit. Until salvation comes in the form of an inheritance from her spinster aunt, and she realizes that freedom and love can come from the most unexpected place.

Doctor Silas Brooks carries the burden of loss and the responsibility of raising his young niece alone, which makes him rethink God’s plan for him. His world feels steady, if lonely, until Josie steps into it, bringing with her both hope and the possibility of love he thought was beyond his reach.

As Josie and Silas dare to build a life together, their hearts begin to heal in ways neither of them had imagined. But when the past threatens to destroy the fragile happiness they’ve found, they must choose whether to fight for their love or let it slip away.

"The Healer’s Mail-Order Bride" is a historical romance novel of approximately 80,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.

The inflection and tone from the AI narration sucks. It made it difficult to get past the first 3 chapters. i couldn't listen past it. it was annoying, which was disappointing because I was really interested in listening to this story. I'm going to have to see if I can find it in a hardcopy or e-book.

Virtual voice was not as bad as I thought however it still does not replace a human reader that can inflect where needed. I guess it is no worse than a monotone narrator lol. The story line and characters were what kept me.

Story was great

Think Little House on the Prairie (the tv show) with more religious preaching. The VVoice was god awful which just made it all worse. Thank god I got it for free.

Can I get that time back
