Getting your life back can be killer . . . .

Kimera Davis thought she was finally free from marrying for money - and living way too many lies. Until her obsessed ex-husband ignited the ultimate dark hoax, a spectacularly malicious deception that's left her family, and her best friend, Adria, reeling. Now Kimera and her young son are prisoners at a remote estate, under the thumb of her ex's powerful father. And she has only one slender chance of escape.

Suddenly Kimera is getting dangerously close to an unlikely ally, but even she can't be sure if she's playing him, if what they have is real . . . or if he's mastering her game. And there's no guarantee that her calculations and wild-card moves will earn her and her son's freedom - or cost more than her survival is worth . . . .

Whew this series should come with a warning label.. it evoked so many different emotions with the dramatic loss and turn of events had me on an emotional roller coaster but the series was great

This series was good but triggering

I never leave reviews , but one this I have to. Starting from book 1 Kimara got on my last nerve with the lies and secrets. She found herself in deep trouble and blamed everyone but herself, all though everything didnt end in happier ever after, I'm glad that she grew the hell up and owned her part in everything eventually. There was some very sad sad parts and I don't want to give anything away, but I think wait I loved most about this story is even though it was DRAMATIC, the realness is showing what can actually happen when you lie to your loved ones and only think about yourself when you are deceitful and keep secrets as opposed to the happily ever after all is well and nothing bad happens in most stories like this. Well done from start to finish.

Great story

Beautifully written!! Not vulgar or hood, but had all of the suspenseful action! I loved this entire series, read all 3 in about a week! Morae Brehon carried this series in her back with the narration. It’s not every day you find a person that can read for each and every character and it’s still interesting. Great job. Excellent job of the 2nd narrator in the 3rd book as well. You ladies handled business. This author has a new fan❤️

Such a great series!!

This review is for all 3 books...

1. I don't understand how the "love of her life" was seen has some great boyfriend. He was a good guy but not a good partner. I thought he was a selfish ass and no major loss.

2. I like unrealistic events in fiction but everybody isn't this dumb! The whole family was dumb... like, why y'all sending the baby to the church nursery when the daddy is being poisoned at church? How were they surprised about a murder investigation for somebody who died of arsenic poisoning? Why is she crazy for thinking somebody is after her when y'all see all these crazy tragedies happening back to back?

3. The main character was such a coward until towards the end. I'm so glad her expedience allowed her to grow by the end.

4. This book kept you on your toes and wanting more but be ready to get comfortable with a book full of people who don't know that 2+2=4 lol

5. Can we get an honest Kemmie and a moving to America Kameron (w/ daughter) love story?
