THE INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Named a most-anticipated summer book by USA Today, People, E! News, Cosmopolitan, PureWow, CNN.com, New York Post, CrimeReads, POPSUGAR, and more

The bestselling author of Final Girls and Survive the Night is back with his “best plot twist yet.” (People, "Best Summer Books")

Be careful what you watch for . . .

Casey Fletcher, a recently widowed actress trying to escape a streak of bad press, has retreated to the peace and quiet of her family’s lake house in Vermont. Armed with a pair of binoculars and several bottles of bourbon, she passes the time watching Tom and Katherine Royce, the glamorous couple living in the house across the lake. They make for good viewing—a tech innovator, Tom is powerful; and a former model, Katherine is gorgeous.

One day on the lake, Casey saves Katherine from drowning, and the two strike up a budding friendship. But the more they get to know each other—and the longer Casey watches—it becomes clear that Katherine and Tom’s marriage isn’t as perfect as it appears. When Katherine suddenly vanishes, Casey immediately suspects Tom of foul play. What she doesn’t realize is that there’s more to the story than meets the eye—and that shocking secrets can lurk beneath the most placid of surfaces.

Packed with sharp characters, psychological suspense, and gasp-worthy plot twists, Riley Sager’s The House Across the Lake is the ultimate escapist read . . . no lake house required.

Thinking I had purchased a mystery, I was very surprised when the paranormal happened and the story started to unravel with the writer totally ignoring what was said previously. Don’t waste your money on this one as it is not even close to being believable.

Riley Sager is a sneaky basta*d, for sure. This was worth waiting and waiting.

He pulled it off.

I had a hard time with the narrator’s tone. It just didn’t match up to the main character for me (which is something very particular to my experience). Other than that, this story took a turn I didn’t expect, and I usually figure things out! I will recommend it to friends for sure.

I really like this book, but…

No offense to the narrator but we are trying to imagine a supermodel in her 20’s and a woman age 35 as the main characters and it took me hours of listening to get over the elderly narrator. Listen to sample before buying
Now let’s get to the book:
Was not the best but I waited a long time for this book and I actually enjoyed it. I did enjoy him mentioning the Bartholomew hotel in Central Park kind of brought me back for a moment to his other book. He’s kind of obsessed with Lakes I believe at this point the same way that Stephen king is obsessed with mean.

Buy the book or use Libby. Narrator 👎🏻 Book 👍🏻 (no spoilers)

This is the worst choice for a narrator I have ever listened to. The protagonist is supposed to be a young 35 year old woman and she sounds like a 70 year old who smokes 5 packs a day. Completely ruined the story, save your credit and read this one from the page.

Horrible Narrator
