As teenagers, Poppy Carlisle and Serena Gorringe were the only witnesses to a tragic event. Amid heated public debate, the two seemingly glamorous teens were dubbed 'The Ice Cream Girls' by the press and were dealt with by the courts.

Years later, having led very different lives, Poppy is keen to set the record straight about what really happened, while Serena wants no one in her present to find out about her past. But some secrets will not stay buried - and if theirs is revealed, everything will become a living hell all over again...

Critic reviews

Absolutely fantastic. From the first page you'll be desperate to know exactly what happened
A powerful departure from the usual frothy chick-lit, this beautifully written novel will hook you from the start
Another moving and thought-provoking read, this lives up to expectations
Gripping, thought-provoking and ultimately heart-warming
Incredibly gripping, ****
Unputdownable is a word that's bandied around a lot, but we seriously dare you to try and prise yourself away from this one

What did you love best about The Ice Cream Girls?

The characters are well rounded and this story is hard to turn off. A frightening account of how teenagers are so easily drawn into a destructive relationship with their teacher who is twice their age and a sadistic psychopath. The narrators brought it to life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Both girls were my favourites as they were compelling in the unfolding of the story.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

Their voices and the clarity and emotion they brought to their parts.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, but I felt chilled as I come from Brighton.

Any additional comments?

A great surprise story! So glad I came across it.
