I finished this book in one sitting. It's one of my all time favorites.

Good story, interesting with some mystery involved. I liked the female character, Christine, and her perseverance. L’Amour always ends his books leaving me wanting to hear the rest of the story, it is frustrating at times and then I go searching for books with the same characters. Although, most of his Protagonist are shot to hell at some point in the book making me believe that their lives were fairly short. This is a good short listen, great for a road trip.

It is difficult in Louis L'Amour's books to side with anyone but the main character - in this case Matt Keelock.

Like all of his writings Louis L'Amour does a great job of describing the wild west - I'm a horse rancher in Canada's desert country and enjoy the realism of his characters and their surroundings.
