A princess becomes a warrior, indulges in forbidden romance, and rules an empire in an epic fantasy saga inspired by Aladdin and the 1001 Arabian Nights.

Princess Bennua is betrothed to a foreigner in a far-away land, until a prince of thieves comes to claim her for himself. Kidnapped and brought to a desert of mystery and wonder, Bennua becomes the master of a djinn trapped within a magic lamp... and falls in love with a man who’s as secretive as he is dangerous.

Her travels take her to lands of ancient pharaohs and dark crypts, to illustrious palaces and jungles filled with mythical beasts. Bennua finds herself in service of an ancient deity, a fire god who is at war with the devil, and in the middle of a fight where angels battle kings and monsters devour men.

Swords clash, magic ignites, and sultans fall. One girl has the power to save the world, and she will bring the desert to its knees with her bravery... her strength... and her love.

disliked that the men were portrayed so accurately from the past. men were so ornery and defensive at that time and we are headed back there

I thought this was a good book but as I listened I realized it was telling stories of the Bible and making the mc all of them while adding other stories to it. it's really just a mix of other stories already made. but what bothered me the most was the "sevants" saying she would bare her god and then after she did she was beaten cut clothes torn and whipped and made fun of over her god. I don't feel it'd be right to read anymore of this book but I heard some of yhe end of it earlier and it was she is also the mother of snakes after the snake caused her to sin and the man wanted to kill it but she protected the snake so there was always a woman who could get all snakes to follow her and obviously this snake along with the rest will save them. then it's the devil is saving her against the devil!!

this is a book where the mc is mary Jesus rct
