A woman of great fortune....

Margaret Easton needs a husband, and she needs one now. Her parents are convinced that only a European will do, but Margaret wants nothing more than to stay in England. The trouble is that there is only one man Margaret can think of, or rather, one she cannot forget, and he wouldn’t do as a husband at all. Then she finds herself in his care unexpectedly, and her hunt becomes even more complicated than she could have ever imagined.

A man of great mystery....

Rafe Thornton has never said more than 10 words to Margaret Easton, but she is rapidly becoming the sole occupant of his thoughts. She is distracting him from his operative work as the Gent, and keeps him from his usual focused nature, which he doesn’t mind at all. When she stumbles into his world, his work and his emotions collide, forcing him to choose between saving the Crown, and protecting his love.

Suspense and love. A good, clean story and the telling was excellent. A story for teens through nineties to enjoy.

The story was one that was just to be listened to and enjoyed as a story. There were family members who trusted others instead of the girl. A love story with a bit of suspense, but he adored her and … no spoilers here! But I wish audible would release the other books in the series.

Great story!

I love the author's way of writing. I love her character development for the hero. However her knowledge on description of the female the heroine is so annoying. She made the character so dumb so willingly accepting of situations that she doesn't have to.She made a scene like this very wealthy very integrated person in a society where everyone knows everybody has 0 people to turn to. I understand the writer needs to have plot twist in order to make the book interesting. However many of the plot twist many of the situations that the heroine gets herself into it's of her own demised. She fails to see opportunities and she also fails to rely on easily accessible partner's. The author made it so difficult for us to root for the heroine because of how often she herself placed was placed in situations. It was annoying. This book had so much potential the character developed for some of the psychic characters the overall plot and layout of the land and how you have this group of people but for this one female heroine to be so loved yet so isolated is not an impossible thing to do but the way it was written makes you feel that it is something that will never actually happen. The authority given to certain people over this individual is so beyond understanding what she has such high powered clothes family makes it harder for you to sit there and be like this is an understandable plot I understand how this is happening.

Such obvious plot twist
