I loved book one. I adored book two. Kathleen Cuyler’s characters have matured, the classic lit cameos are exquisite! Sherlock Holmes still has my whole heart (just like in book one), but seeing Blackwick so beautifully fleshed out, actually rivaling him this time? Perfection. The dragon lore is once again fresh and singular, but the real MVP? That singing crocodile pirate. I need his songs on a loop, full album, right now.

And can we talk about the narrator? Sarah Kisko inhabits these characters now. Her deeper familiarity with every personality, every motive, makes this an unforgettable listening experience. Grab this like yesterday. Your ears will thank you.
