Claire: A few hours after losing my job, I get a call from a stranger who claims I've inherited property from my father. I assume it's a scam, because my dad is alive. Turns out my mother is the liar.

I board a flight to my bio-dad's hometown, but the turbulence is so bad I worry we won't make it. Declan, the hot, tattooed hunk next to me, is terrified too. When the plane freefalls for half a second, he kisses me with the passion of a man who thinks he's about to die. He seems to regret it immediately—and we both regret it when we discover he's my new neighbor.

To make matters worse, it turns out my bio-dad's cabin is only half mine. The rest belongs to a half-sister I didn't know I had.

If I weren't unemployed and broke, I'd leave, but this crappy half-a-house is my only possession. So I stay in the hopes that I can convince her to sell. Unfortunately, she seems intent on setting me up with Declan, and her matchmaking tactics are extreme.

Declan: I came to the mountains to hide and be alone, and now I'm never alone.

Every time I turn a corner, I run into Claire. She's tempting, but I know better than to wrap her up in my trouble—or get wrapped up in hers.

Contains mature themes.

A book that surprised me with the complexity of the relationships and how they weave together. Although there were some differences and difficulties along the way, it showed how two sisters can get things done.

Unexpectedly good

This is actually a good rom com with plot twist. As other reviewers noted, the female narrator kept pronouncing executor (of the will) as executor (like someone executes a plan). Yes, that’s distracting but we’ve all done it with a word.
Also I’ve learned increasing the narration speed often helps those little quirky voice or nasalized voice that some people just can’t seem to get over.
The male narrator pronounced executor correctly and by time, it may have only been said once again.

Great HEA. Some funny scenes. Plot twist towards the end. Not too much “in their head narration” that can be so redundant.
I’ll recommend this.

Increase speed and hang in there.

And unfortunately, Audible will not let me return it. The narrators were 1. Reading a book and not using any inflection or emotion...very dry. 2. They kept mispronouncing words.... executor is pronounced ig-ZEK-yuh-ter. Not ig-zek-YUH-ter. Sorry.

Could not get past Chapter 3

The moment I heard the male narrator I knew I wouldn’t be able to finish this book. I find his voice so nasal and grating. I was unfortunately cleaning so I made it through a few chapters (with happy breaks due to the female voices chapters) and the premise of the story was interesting and fun but I cannot get past his voice. I started and abruptly stopped another book narrated by this male narrator. This is supposed to be the sexy male lead, more like annoying neighbor.

I hate the male voice
