You know the stories. The poor, scrappy girl meets the handsome, brooding prince. Sparks fly. He's mysterious. She's the only one who understands him.

Yeah, this isn't that story.

My plan was simple: sneak into the Fae King's tournament, win enough gold to disappear, and go back to a life where my biggest problem was giant badgers, not giant egos.

I'm good at simple.

Or I was, until I accidentally won the whole thing. And my final opponent? Prince Aurius. You know the type. Hair like spun moonlight, a face that could make angels weep, and a personality that makes you want to hit him with a stick.

So I did.

And dropped him on his perfect, royal face in front of the entire glittering court.

Whoops.

So now my prize isn't a bag of gold. It's a "job."

I, a pixie of questionable lineage, am now the Royal Tutor in the Art of Gutter Fighting. My student? The furious, humiliated, and terrifyingly powerful prince I just beat.

He thinks I'm his new project: a thing to break until I beg to leave. The problem is, the closer I get, the more I see the cracks in his flawless mask.

There's a rage in him, a madness the whole court whispers about... and I think I might be the only one who isn't afraid of it.

My plan was to save myself. Now I'm the only one that can save him.

The problem is, saving the Prince might be the last stupid thing I ever do.

Featuring a deadly conspiracy, assassins in the shadows, and a slow-burn romance born from forced proximity to a prince who's a literal monster. Besides, it's not 'enemies to lovers' if you still want to hit him most of the time.

Well well well… I came for the romance, I stayed for the slaughter. No wait…I came, I saw, I conquered is more like it. I’m mad this is a series but damn it’s good. I wish I could get a blurb on at least the next in the series. I hope it’s not a hunnid books long. We shall see. Great start though.

I thought this was a new stand alone, something a little lighter. Nope, but it was an excellent read! There were some glitches in the audio but overall, I really enjoyed it. I'll be looking for the next!

no steamy parts but you can feel there is something there.
there are some twists and turns.
it does say at the end "this is end of book one" so there are more books, but I'm still looking.
