She’ll never forget … I’ll never forgive. People always notice my daughter, Isobel. How could they not? Incredibly beautiful ... until she speaks. An unsettling, little-girl voice, exactly like a child’s, but from the mouth of a full-grown woman. Izzie might look grown-up, but inside she’s trapped. Caught in the day it happened … the day that broke her from within. Our family fell apart that day, and we never could pick up the pieces …©2018 Lucy Dawson (P)2018 Bolinda Publishing Thriller & Suspense Psychological Scary Suspense Fiction Genre Fiction

An interesting story with great narration but it still seemed to drag on in places.

Great surprise. I really enjoyed this book. I would have never guessed the ending!
I have a little trouble understanding the accent of the storyteller.

This is my most favorite Lucy Dawson book. I don't understand all these bad reviews. They came across the spooky part and gave up, didn't wait the see the explanation for that. They missed out on a great book.
The narrator is awesome. Her adult voice is great and her child voice, which plays a major role, is absolutely perfect. Although, I wish there was a little difference between Rosie and Izzie.

The ending was very surprising and somewhat satisfying. I was hoping Izzie's mom would find out the truth to avoid future mistakes. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Mistry, and suspense.

This is a 5 star book

Terrifically presented ever-evolving characters.
Clear, well-paced, unpredictably (and non-annoyingly) twisty plot.
Emotionally gripping and provocative as a reading experience
Persistently Inspiring of further contemplation (mildly annoying-lol)

I've enjoyed other books by Lucy Dawson, but this one not so much. To start, I don't find the idea of a "haunted house" very intriguing. The story began well but proceeded at a slow pace. There were many characters--none very likeable. The convoluted resolution was not especially satisfying to me. Overall rating: 2 1/2 stars, generously rounded up
