This was a great story concept that tugged at your “heart line” and made you feel connected to the characters. I loved the different timelines that the characters were pulled from and I can’t wait to meet new ones! The storyline did have some inconsistencies that proved to be a bit confusing at times and some plot lines didn’t land effectively seemingly because the idea wasn’t executed thoroughly, but the overall story was interesting and exciting. I look forward to the next story.
The narration was top notch and engaging, giving arena energy to the serious theme of the story. James has perfected the voice of each character and committed fully to the evolvement of the misfits and adjusted their tone and affect. He makes you feel like you are a spectator in the arena holding to the edge of your seat as you cheer on the misfits and their coach.
This story will appeal to sports fans and history buffs and anyone who loves a heartwarming tale with underlying drama.
