Six months ago, Hallie Thatcher's parents sold The Stone's Throw Inn, where she's lived and worked for her entire life. Everything is changing around her, and she's been trying to adjust. And now, there's an interim manager joining the team, ensuring that Hallie can go visit her family over the holidays.

What she's not expecting is to like the new manager, Brynn Fitzpatrick, as much as she does. And though Brynn's time in Stoneport is temporary, Hallie can't help but lean into her unassuming charm. Or, more dangerously, when it means wondering why, as Hallie tries to start dating, no one compares to Brynn.

Brynn Fitzpatrick thinks helping out at The Stone's Throw Inn is the right next step after a very public failed engagement. Plus, she's not ready to settle back in Boston, under the scrutiny of her parents' overbearing but well-meaning support.

For someone who was supposed to be getting married a few months ago, Brynn's never really thought a lot about love, but spending so much time with Hallie is making her think about all kinds of things for the first time. And it's making her want things that she's never expected to crave.

Contains mature themes.

Very excited to hear this second adaptation of the side story line from The Love Lie (amazing book by the way). The performance as always was spot on. But the overall story itself felt very hard to stay intrigued by. There seemed to be so much uncertainty then absolute certainty. Then angst about the uncertainty again. Characters knowing what they want in life. Then not. Given the opportunity then being shy about it and uncertain, again. I don’t want to go into specifics and create spoilers.
I’m sure it’s amazing for others. I am only one person with one opinion.

So much angst, but somewhat lovely story.

I’ve been waiting months for this to come out and was not disappointed! Brynn and Hallie’s story was so perfect. I loved getting to see more of the inner workings of each character and that the romance didn’t feel forced. We get just enough of Sydney and Reese to get more of their story without it taking over the sequel. Definitely read “The Love Lie” first, if you haven’t already. Incredible job by Lori as always! An absolute must listen!!

So so good! 💜

They are so perfect together and I loved every second. Both books will forever be on my reread list.

I really enjoyed their connection and the love story here and how it all developed. Lori also never misses on her narration!

The banter was really bantering

I was so excited to preorder this book, and it did not disappoint! Hallie and Brynn were such sweet characters in the first book that you couldn’t help but like and wish the best for, so I am glad that Monica followed up with a story about them. Definitely will listen to again!

Such a Sweet Addition to The Love Lie!
