In the shadows and flames, Primals will fall…

And from the blood and ash, new gods will rise.

What was dreamt.

Poppy was never meant to awaken, and the consequences are devastating and far-reaching, stirring ancient powers from their slumber and transforming Casteel and Kieran in ways even the Fates couldn’t have foreseen. But what that means is the least of their concerns. For now.

What was foreseen.

The Blood Crown has fallen, but what has risen is a far greater danger than they’ve ever faced. From flesh and fire, the Great Conspirator has returned to the mortal realm, and he wants only one thing. They must stop the true Primal of Death before he regains his strength, and it won’t be easy. Even weakened, his influence is undeniable. His power, unthinkable.

Has come to be.

While the future of the realms rests upon them, they won’t stand alone. The gods have awakened—each harboring their own blood-soaked secrets. But they must navigate an unbalanced realm, where every choice—past and present—has the potential to not only undo everything they’ve fought for but also destroy the very bonds that have Joined them together.

For the Harbinger and the Bringer of Death and Destruction has risen.

I feel like I'm the only one that was not surprised by the ending. It's been leading up to this throughout the entire series in my opinion.

This one did seem to drag on more than the others in some parts of the story. I think the book was a little too long but only because the author gets very repetitive in the phrases she uses. You already know this is you've read the previous books in the series. I did enjoy seeing the characters from the other realms. I wish they had bigger parts in the book.

There was one part about the end I hated. Some of my favorite characters deaths were handled very badly. I should have cried and been an emotional mess, but the way it was written, I barely felt anything about it. Zero stars for the author for that.

The last chapter was great and I loved the change of narrator. I wish we only had the female narrator throughout the book and only one change at the end. I really don't enjoy the back and forth throughout the book. I hate cliffhangers and probably would have waited to buy this if I had know this book had such a huge one at the end. So be warned. It's a doozy.

Excited For The Next One!

This book was postponed because Jennifer said she had more to add and she wanted to add more to the story to wrap everything up. After the absolute waste of time that the last book was, I truly expected her to produce a plot heavy, good book that tied into the Flesh and Fire series. The entire first half of this book is pointless. It drags on and on and was the hardest book yet to continue reading. I am so disappointed by this book especially after the hype.

Disappointing...

This book was about 10 hrs. too long. It was chore to finish. It was full of unnecessary and repetitive scenes and information. What was funny and interesting about the other books in the series was the relationship between Poppy, Casteel and Kieran but in this book that relationship was damaged and not repaired. The ending offers absolutely no hope for the resolution of the conflict which very disappointing. I hope the next book if there is one is written better. I don’t know if I even want to find out.

Way Too Long
