It is the autumn of 2019. Merlin’s wayward apprentice has escaped from the tower of London with his raven familiars. Legend foretells that the white tower, then England, will fall. Can King Arthur, a weary veteran of the English Civil War, Waterloo, and the Somme, prevent the Ravenmaster from exacting his revenge?

I really enjoyed this book. It was well written, exciting action, and of course Authur!! The story puts him in different role, very fun. And what can you say besides that the narrator was brilliant. He puts so much life into his stories and takes you right along with him. So enjoyable to listen to...

I enjoyed this audiobook SO much! The narrator was perfection. The story was fantastic. I would give it more stars if I could!
Traveling back and forth in time, we see King Arthur throughout history and watch as he and his knights fight for England. It's a fantastic take on Arthurian legend. I'm thrilled that there's more books and I will definitely be listening to them!

SUCH a good book!

Having said that, I still think it's worth purchasing. The story is an interesting extension of the Arthurian legend centered around a conflict between Merlin and his apprentice who went into the darker side of magic. It spans events of five centuries though the majority of it is in the current one, pitching the characters as background movers of the events.

Nigel Peever did a masterful narration. It was like sitting by the fire while the storyteller unfolded the tale with rich dramatic display.

Like a master storyteller by the fire
