When Roxanne Russell’s mother dies, her father is away on a business trip. The young military widow leaves dozens of messages for her father, but receives no response. The narrator made the main character’s voice sound like a meek little girl. It was annoying. The story was ok but it dragged on. Nothing like the author’s book “Maude”. I was disappointed.
