Two Bestselling Agatha Christie Novels in One Great Audiobook

The Secret Adversary

From the brilliant pen of Agatha Christie comes the first novel in her Tommy and Tuppence mystery series featuring the beloved sleuthing duo—now a movie on both Acorn TV and PBS.

Tommy and Tuppence are young, in love… and flat broke. Restless for excitement, they decide to embark on a daring business scheme: Young Adventurers Ltd.—""willing to do anything, go anywhere."" But they get more than they bargained for when their first assignment for the sinister Mr. Whittington draws them into a diabolical conspiracy.

It isn’t long before they find themselves plunged into more danger than they ever could have imagined—a danger that could put an abrupt end to their business…and their lives.

N or M?

?Set during the dark days of World War II, Agatha Christie’s N or M? puts two most unlikely espionage agents, Tommy and Tuppence Beresford, on the trail of a pair of Nazi spies who have murdered Britain’s top agent.

World War II is raging, and while the RAF struggles to keep the Luftwaffe at bay, Britain faces a sinister threat from “the enemy within”—Nazis posing as ordinary citizens.

With pressure mounting, the intelligence service appoints two improbable spies, Tommy and Tuppence Beresford. Their mission: to seek out a man and a woman from among the colorful guests at Sans Souci, a seaside hotel. But this assignment is far from an easy stroll along the promenade—N and M have just murdered Britain’s finest agent and no one can be trusted.

Always love Agatha Christie anything she writes is a step above any other mystery writer. Although this is my least favorite series.

I love the values and characters—very sophisticated compared with the oversimplified plots that sometimes prevail

The acting and writing

Tommy & Tuppence are vastly overshadowed by Hercule Poirot and (my personal favorite) Miss Marple, Christie’s legendary sleuths and despite being a rabid Christie fan I have long avoided the handful of stories in which they appear.

I avoided them simply because their cutesy names with the “T” alliteration and my tendency to dislike mysteries featuring married couples turned me off from so much as giving the tales a cursory chance.

I was not about to get fictionally involved with a sleuthing couple named Tommy and Tuppence, thanks.

I accidentally purchased the first title as part of a sale & was horrified and embarrassed to realize I should’ve had more faith in Christie as a writer, especially since I had ample evidence of her writing skills.

Cleverly done with twists and turns and numerous red herrings, Tommy and Tuppence will never replace Miss Marple in my heart, but they are compelling characters I wish I’d given a chance sooner.
