The narrator is unrealistically naive, and although, not overly long, the story drags. There is also unnecessary repetition, like there's a word quota.

I seriously don’t understand why there aren’t a full collection of her books on audible. So popular and well-loved. I discovered her in middle school reading Lord of the Far Island and then as many more as I could find. 40 years later and after so many tv series, dramas, other authors, I still come back to look at her collection. I want The Time of the Hunter’s Moon, The Judas Kiss, The Black Opal, Lord of the Far Island, Will You Love Me in September, Pride of the Peackock, House of a Thousand Lanterns…and more, pronto! Love listening to her in the car…

I love that her books have a little romance and a little mystery and this one is no different. Kept me interested throughout. I enjoyed the the narration, her voice was easy to listen to.

I’ve been a Victoria Holt fan since I was a teenager and decades later I’m enjoying her gothic stories in audible format. I wasn’t too fond of the female reader doing the male voice. I wished it was read by an actual male voice. Otherwise the reader was very good.

Incredible!! I absolutely loved the storyline with so much excitement guessing who was responsible for all the mystery behind the true crimes!!
