Alison Bruce is a scriptwriter and author of two non-fiction crime books. She was born in Surrey but moved to Cambridge in 1998. She is married with two small children and enjoys horse riding and dancing, when not working on her new crime fiction series featuring D C Gary Goodhew. This is the second DC Goodhew novel.

I do quite enjoy the DC Goodhew books but I get annoyed by the narrator - he's young like Goodhew so I suppose that fits but a couple of things irritate - he doesnt do characters as well as some other narrators and has a tendency to be a bit flat. My other bigger irritation is the mispronunciation of local names - Quy is not Key, it rhymes with Why! And Gwydir St also rhymes with Why - it isn't Gwidder St. Apart from that and the slightly improbable treatment of Goodhew by his superior the series is nice because they're set in my home town.
