Return to the darkly beautiful world of The Sin Eater's Daughter with a sequel that will leave you awed, terrified...and desperate for more.

Ever since her brother Lief disappeared, Errin's life has gone from bad to worse. Not only must she care for her sick mother, she has to scrape together rent money by selling illegal herbal cures. But none of that compares to the threat of the vengeful Sleeping Prince, whom the Queen just awoke from his enchanted sleep.

When her village is evacuated as part of the war against the Sleeping Prince, Errin is left desperate and homeless. The only person she can turn to is the mysterious Silas, a young man who buys Errin's herbs to cast dangerous spells she was never supposed to see. Silas promises to help Errin, but when he's taken by the Prince's forces, Errin must journey across her war-ravaged kingdom to find Silas's family - a legendary band of alchemists with the power to cure Errin's mother. But their abilities come at a great cost, and with the Sleeping Prince drawing nearer, Errin must make a heartbreaking choice that could affect the whole kingdom.

What made the experience of listening to The Sleeping Prince the most enjoyable?

The narrator nailed it again. She brings the story to life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Erin is the main character in this book and is another strong female character.

What about Amy Shiels’s performance did you like?

She gives each character their own voice and all are believable and easy to listen to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely. I couldn't put this down. My daughter and I read it at the same time and her reaction was the same. We had to tear ourselves away so we could go to work...

Any additional comments?

Would recommend this series to any age. And can't wait for the last in the series due out in 2017.

Melinda Salisbury's world-building is fascinating and thorough, and as the reader moves through this second book in the series, the story sweeps along on its own relentless impetus. This time, as with The Sin-Eater's Daughter, it is the side story of the heroine's mother that is hypnotic and poignant. It was difficult, though, to be constantly frustrated with the heroine again-and even more-in the second book. Does the author think brave young women also have to be thoughtless of the men who care about them, self-centered, impulsive to the point of destructiveness, and self-pitying? The characteristics of Erinn/Twylla are beginning to seem like a formula. But a good story, all the same.

Excellent narration; another frustrating heroine

I liked the first book. But this book was even better. I listened to the entire book in 1 day. Now I'm ready for the final book.

Better than the first.

Awesome, way better than the 1st book, since we had a strong character throughout. This one pieces it all together and helps us better understand why Twyla acted as she did in the 1st book. The ending is such a cliffhanger!!!

Can't wait for the next book in the series!
