Based on a series of lectures given at Cambridge University, The Theory of Everything presents the most complex concepts of physics—both past and present—in a clear and accessible manner. Stephen Hawking enlightens listeners and exposes them to the rich history of scientific thought and the complexities of the universe in which we live. Using computer-assisted technology, Hawking reads from his own work.

This is a fantastic journey through the world of quantum physics and cosmology, even if some of it is hard to grasp. However, the reader speaks v e r y, v e r y s l o w l y. Listening at 1.5x improved it considerably.

Great book, slow narration

It was so good to listen to. Steven hawking to me was one of the best people I have known ( not personally )

Never read a book this good

Good discussion of the history of physic's theory and attempts to unite into a grand unifying theory. I would have liked more of the math added in. Too much of "trust me it works" in the explanations. Yes I know that would have exponentially expanded the book into volumes, but it would have been nice to point to concise details for those interested.

Mind expanding

Little dated but love how he explains things. The outline was perfect. Left the reader wanting more. Def will listen again.

Great book

Admittedly it is hard to explain tough material in laymen's terms but Hawking does a decent job.

Not as good as Carl Sagan but OK.
