Either you're in or you're out.

Welcome to the Thrashers, the elite friend group at New Helvetia High.

They’re everything everyone wants to be.

Jodi Dillon was never meant to be one of them. Julian, Lucy, Paige, and the infamous Zack Thrasher are rich, sophisticated, and love attention. Jodi feels out of place, but Zack’s her childhood best friend, so she’s in.

Then Emily Mills, who desperately wanted to be a Thrasher, dies—and the whispers about the Thrashers begin. As Emily’s journal surfaces, detectives close in, and Jodi faces an impossible choice: betray her friends or protect herself.

But as eerie messages and strange occurrences escalate, it becomes clear—Emily isn’t done with them yet.

A twisty thrill-ride of unforgettable drama and suspense that "encapsulates the vulnerability of adolescents playing adult games" (Ali Hazelwood) from USA Today bestselling author Julie Soto, The Thrashers will keep you up at night desperate to listen to just five more minutes.

"A tour-de-force YA debut from Julie Soto." —Alexa Donne

"For fans of Karen McManus and Kara Thomas, The Thrashers had me holding my breath, sweaty-palming my e-reader, and dying to flip each page to see what would happen next." —Susan Lee

"Expertly plotted and full of flawed, morally gray characters you still can't help rooting for, The Thrashers is one of the best books I've read this year." —Evelyn Skye

This drew me in and had me addicted to seeing what was going to happen. Sometimes it is hard to recognize what we don’t like in others am really be more about what we don’t like in ourselves.

Haunting quick read

I read this book that took me out of my comfort zone for a kindle challenge, and I'm glad I did. There were a lot of twists and turns as Jodi tries to find out if her close group of friends is responsible for Emily's apparent suicide. As she sneaks around to find Emily's phone and journal she also discovers that her own friendship with the Thrashers is a bit uneven. But Emily isn't the innocent she seems and the events surrounding her death are very suspect. And the way she tries to play them in her afterlife as well. In the end, I was happy for Jodi. She seems to be making choices that are healthier for her love life. And Zack, I don't know if I feel what happened between him and Emily was super bad, but the way he gets off for being wealthy and a small date discrepancy is kind of indicative of how it is in real life. The rich criminals will rarely pay for their wrongs. So it didn't sit that well with me. And as bad as what Julian did do, his punishment seems far worse than he deserves. And if you read the story it's not just his time in prison that I'm talking about. Anyway, The Thrashers was a good book, and the audio narration was good as well. I would recommend.
