In this sequel to The Pecan Man, Eldred Mims has died in prison after serving time for a crime he did not commit. When Ora Lee Beckworth decides to set the record straight, her confession leaves Blanche Lowery's daughters, Patrice and Grace, to grapple with the aftermath of a lifetime of lies. Now the sisters must reframe everything they thought they knew about their mother, their brother, and the man they knew as Eddie.

A big "thank you" to Audible for including this author's works in their "included" selections. These books have a comforting tone to them, it warms the soul. These are characters that you care deeply about, thinking of them long after the books are finished. I rate them them right up with "The Secret Life of Bees" & "The Help". Don't hesitate to download them, you too will be swept up by these very special characters.

Exceptional!

Wow what a story. I’m just speechless. I loved everything about this book. It was sad wholesome and angering but we’ll work listening to. You much listen to The Pecan man first though to understand.

The truth about grace is a well written sequel. It picks up with the death of the Pecan Man’s death. I love how well the characters are written. I could close my eyes and picture them clearly. I grew up in the south in the early 80’s and could relate to Grace the most. I also had a older sister and brother whom I adored and a single mother who worked hard. Reading this story has opened my eyes to how truly blessed I am. There where times when I was Grace age (at the time of the incident) where I could have been hurt or worse. I think back and realize this could have been my story. Thank you Jesus it is not! I absolutely loved how much Mrs. Ora Lee loved Blanche’s children as if they were hers and how all of them came together as a family. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again “ this book should be a movie!”

Great sequel! It should be a movie!
