Ben Watson and Timothy Badger’s client isn’t a vampire. Or, is he?!
This was another excellent cozy mystery pitting 19th Holmes-style detective work against a gothic small town convinced the bat-loving scientist in their midst was a vampire.

Badger and his lady love got more attention in this installment than Watson which gave great pops of humor and heart to keep the murder mystery from getting too dark and dreary. I wish the bats and vampire riff had kept up with the story because the second half devolved a bit into ordinary mystery fare. Still, this was a solid entry and Mr. Butler’s stellar narration continues to amaze.
