From the author of The Brighter the Light comes the story of two women connected by the grief they never got over and the journey they embark on to finally move forward.

It’s been fifteen years since her sister died, and Rae McDonald still hasn’t recovered from the accident—or the ways she tried to cope with it. Not even a PhD in psychology has helped her deal with her feelings. It’s safer to shut them out. But that makes it difficult to connect with the son she gave up for adoption as a teenager.

Lisa Smyth hasn’t fared any better. She was in the car with Rae’s sister that tragic night and keeps the truth of what really happened buried in her own grief. Still struggling, she drowns her guilt with glass after glass.

But unresolved pain can’t be ignored forever. Sooner or later, it’s time to heal.

Rae and Lisa reunite in their small hometown of Alexandria. Bolstered by the hope of finally moving forward, they confront the tragedy that haunts the familiar streets…and investigate the connection of a centuries-old curse.

A great mash of characters

She absolutely put me to sleep. The cadence was sooo slow, horrid annunciation & terribly distracting & annoying. I purchased another book like this & hated it, also. I'm going to start paying attention to the name of the reader in the future. Hope this isn't the new "style".

The Narrator made me regret purchasing the audiobook!

I never really understood the story. I continued to anticipate a conclusion or explanation of the witches.
