Yes, you should be afraid of the dark....

A powerful demon is hell-bent on revenge, and he knows paranormal investigator Ford Atticus Ford by name.

As Ford wrestles with the uncertain nature of his future, a different kind of evil storms into his world, proving that not all demons are inhuman. Trailing in Lauren Coeburn's wake are some of the most elusive and terrifying paranormal entities in existence - the black-eyed children.

For Mike Long, a panicked, early morning phone call from a haunted angel brings new hope, but it's costly, and he may learn what it's like to be on the other side of judgment's gavel.

Then there's little Chelsea Hopper...and the threatening darkness lurking inside her dreams.

Great story

Holy cow! When the narrator goes into the demons’ voices, the black-eyed children especially, he sounds amazing!! I had had issues with the voice he gave for Lauren because she sounded a bit too stereotypical, but then…holy cow. That was intense. Much better than the first book.

The demon narration!

I'm used to maybe the first book in a series being available in the Plus catalog, to lure me into something, get me addicted, and then get me spending my credits on the rest of the series before the previous book has even ended. But this whole trilogy (series?) is on the Plus catalog and I am living my best life listening to them.

The characterization in these books are just phenomenal. The growth. It's beautiful. The ending of this one seemed a little sped up, but I recognize that was probably the circumstances happening and POV. But man, I'm invested. I hope there's more books coming because I'm on the third and I'm gonna be upset if it's the last time I get to hang out with these people.

All three books in this series were great listens! I loved the simplicity of the storyline, narration was PERFECT (some voices can ruin the best stories) and the imagery throughout each book was excellent!
