Mary must do what she can to help her friend while avoiding the same fate that could lead to her destruction. Despite grief, fear, and exhaustion, Mary will work hard around town to gather the means to pay the debt or see her sons be forced to work in a foreign land. “The Widow’s Oil” is an entertaining character study in perseverance, faith, and love during a time when all odds are against her success. I don’t know why authors are resorting to AI for narration because it always turns out more than lacking. The story had potential but I have to question if AI was used to write portions. It repeated numerous summaries as if there were whole new sequels being started rather than a new chapter. There were many inconsistencies with scripture and historical inaccuracies. I would encourage the author to keep writing but research more, check your sources and avoid AI.
