A village trapped in winter, a tyrannical god, and a girl who will do anything to keep her family alive.

Ever since Cora's father disappeared through the ice, whispers about her family's "curse" have grown increasingly louder. Desperate to help her mother and siblings survive another bleak season in the Winter King's frozen grasp, Cora begins to bend (and even break) the rules she has kept since she was a little girl.

But when she discovers a secret that's much bigger than herself, she realizes too late that she has put herself - and those she loves - in even greater peril. Wintry and dangerous but hauntingly lovely, The Winter King is the debut novel from author Christine Cohen.

Love this book so much there is so much that Cora go through but together with her family and Peter the friend who never let Cora down and love her to the end and hopefully became her husband was good in the words of Artham Wingfether he didn’t leave you Artham said smiling through his tears he never left you Kalmar sniffed and shook his head until now you should read the wingfether saga by Andrew Peterson he is a Christian song writer and author his books are amazing but this specific book series is about the wingfether’s fighting the fangs of dang and nag the nameless it shows love and bravery and more importantly sacrifice.

Part fairytale, part allegory, this book captures the imagination and soul. It’s beautifully written, with solid character growth, plot twists, and a satisfying ending. I’d heard good things about this book and was not disappointed.
