After a nearly three-year long hiatus, Billie Dean Shoemate III, author of 10 novels and over 100 short stories, returns with a disturbing trip into seemingly familiar territory. A classic subject is redefined here by the celebrated independent author.

A twisted take on the living dead unfolds within this audiobook, told by a master of the art. This unrelenting tale is about a man who has just unlocked the final frontiers of medical science. The world has changed through his incredible advancements...but not in the way he expects.

Nathaniel Winters dedicated his life to saving mankind. He had no idea that he would become the architect of doom itself.

This isn't going to be a well thought out review, just what I like. (like all of my "reviews")

I liked how it was written, it was easy to follow yet not boring and predictable, unlike some other zombie stuff that I've read or listened to.

Very well written.

overall it was a pretty fun book. the plot was different enough than others, but also stayed true to the genre. I felt like there were one or two odd plot points that made no sense or came out of nowhere, but overall would recommend

This book was extremely enjoyable! I don't want to post spoilers, so I will be as vague as possible. Also, I listened to the audiobook. The narrator made this book sound like the perfect book to snuggle up in a cabin next to a fire for a few hours and just listen to the story unfold. I liked his calm, soothing voice.

I enjoy zombies, but sometimes the zombie stories can get rather repetitive and predictable. This book definitely is NOT one of those typical zombie stories.

The author does a great job at describing in detail how the outbreak begins, what happens during, and even many years after the outbreak. I LOVE that the story tells you all of the before and after. Even the way the outbreak happens in this book...the scientific discovery of a life time, but with a price.

The characters were mostly likeable, the story was constantly entertaining, and the ending I did NOT see coming. Be sure to listen to the epilogue, since I know sometimes people skip it. All I have to say after that is WOW. I look forward to reading more material from this author!!
