Yes, this is a great book, the first of a trilogy. The sequels are also well worth the read. But, be aware that this is not the complete book. They are only giving you one third of the book. This was done by ONE Audiobooks, not Audible. You'll have to buy two more to hear the complete book. Shame on you ONE Audiobooks.

Just as good as I remember it being. I do wish the narrator didn’t sound so stilted during 1.5 speed, but overall it’s lovely and not grating on the ears .

Story is 10/10. But I didn’t have another credit to buy volume two.

What a great book

I read the Thomas Wingate novel many years ago and thought it’d be an enjoyable listen. However, it turns out they’ve divided the novel into three installments, each costing about $12. This is a ripoff. Way too expensive to spend around $35 for such an olld novel when you consider you can purchase complete collections of Agatha Christy or the Father Brown mysteries for just a few dollars.
I’m hoping someone will produce audio versions of all of the George MacDonald novels, much like Michael Phillips did in print many years ago. But to break one novel Into three installments feels like a scheme to squeeze all the money possible from it, and I refuse to spend anymore.
