A Gotrek Gurnisson novel.

When Felix Jaeger, a student, poet and minor political agitator, swears a drunken oath to a half-mad dwarf, it changes his life. Adventure awaits, as Felix records the mighty deeds of Gotrek Gurnisson, Trollslayer.

Listen to It Because: This collection of stories is where the saga of Gotrek began. Mutants in the forest, goblins in the mountains, a troll beneath the world - from these small beginnings came the greatest partnership in the Old World and a hero who has crossed realities and become a legend.

The Story: Gotrek and Felix: unsung heroes of the Empire or nothing more than common thieves and murderers? The truth perhaps lies somewhere in between and depends entirely upon whom you ask....

After fleeing the authorities in the Imperial city of Altdorf, Felix Jaeger swears a drunken oath to dour dwarf Gotrek Gurnisson to record his death saga. In the cold light of day, Felix's worst fears are confirmed as he learns that Gotrek is a Trollslayer - a dwarf doomed to seek out a heroic death in battle to atone for an unknown personal disgrace. Their travels throw them into a string of extraordinary adventures as Felix tries to survive his companion's destiny.

Now that I'm done I must admit I have a huge bias towards this book. It's one of the best books of all time that I have listen to. William Kings is definitely a master of understanding how to do action. This book is full of that and it is extremely well-written. I am very picky when it comes to action in novels and William Kings does a fantastic job of making you feel the thrill of the scene. The characters are very distinct as well. The narrator did in fantastic job of changing voices when necessary. And even though this says that this is just a fantasy book. I would majorly say that this is a sword & sorcery story. It has all the makings of that and then some. Go track is probably one of the coolest dwarf characters that I've ever read. Can't get enough of him to. Just the Barbarian dwarf level hero that is destined to die in battle. Is unique from other barbarians. It's very enriched with the lore of Warhammer world as well. And the characters are very gripping as you become acquainted to the and all the many newcomers that come their way. The story is very much a new chapter of a new story. So essentially it's almost like having a whole bunch of snort stories compiled into one book. The only complaint is sometimes there was one moment in the book where I did not fully get to see all of the story. That we get it in a passage of the characters writing. I felt very Rob to find out what happened to the villain to only be written in Felix's writing. And that is probably the only complaint that I have in this book. Is quite extraordinary and will be a hard thing to put down highly recommended.

Best sword and sorcery book I've read this far

Famous as one of the best books in the Black Library for a reason. The book is a classic and the perfect entry point for anyone interested in the Warhammer World. The reader is great with some fun voices. I only hope Skavenslayer comes out soon.

Great story and Great reader, when's the next one
