Marriage, movies, and miracles. Oh, my! Marriage is a dance (even when you step on each other's toes), and movies are minefields of problems and politics, but miracles are more common than you might believe.

Kevin and Sam show that if you keep your feet moving and your hearts focused on God's divine rhythm, you can discover successes you might never imagine. All it takes is a little faith.

On television and in film, Kevin has portrayed demigods and evil professors, while in his private life, he's battled his fair share of demons - the three strokes that left him nearly paralyzed and still partially blind.

He credits his wife's "tough love" encouragement; nauseating, relentless optimism; and tireless, constant nagging for pulling him through some of the worst episodes in his recovery.

Getting married to a fundamentally debilitated "Hercules" was something Sam never shied away from. In Kevin, she recognized the love of her life and determined to see him through thick and thin. Sam had confidence that Kevin would recover and thrive, and she put action to her faith. In their third year of married life, once doubt about Kevin's full recovery was laid aside, the near-newly weds determined to build their family. That was going to be yet another trial for them to endure and conquer.

They both credit their faith in God for pulling them through the tough times and laying the foundation for their joy. That is how they came to make movies as a team. Christ said, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

Throughout True Faith, the Sorbos personify this verse as they embrace the struggles they meet and use their faith to bolster their responses. Be uplifted and inspired as you join Sam and Kevin on a journey through trials and triumphs, a couple of faithful Christians who work together, learn together, grieve together, and live life as Christ advocates: abundantly.

Enjoyed hearing about their marriage and Christian convictions. They have contributed to the goodness of America. Their children should also be good ambassadors for Christ. We just need more families like this one. May God keep them safe.

Excellent Book

This audiobook came to be by way of recommendation. Naturally hearing that someone else liked it made it worth giving it a try. I didn’t know what I was about to listen to (because I only judged the book by its cover) and was quickly impressed.
While I haven’t had to endure traumatic experiences like Kevin or the rigors of raising multiple children like Sam, this book is very relatable. It has many points that cause the listener to reflect and also provides a lamppost to help guide the hidden Christian that is merely “going along to get along”.
The quality of the production is also well done. The Sorbos narrate the audiobook themselves (always a bonus to be read by the authors) and alternate chapters as the book goes on.
The only part that may be understated is that Kevin is the actor of the family. This is made clear when Sam applies her best deep southern accent for a few minutes. Other than that this is well written, produced, and narrated. Definitely worth the listen.

The book I didn’t know I needed to hear.

Excellently written! I enjoyed learning more about the Sorbo's life, walk with Christ, and their involvement in the film industry with an uplifting Christ perspective. I enjoyed learning about Sam's passion and involvement in community, politics & schools and how our country was shaped with a Christian worldview....not secular humanism. ONLY with Christ, this nation will stand, with Christ our lives will be truly blessed...otherwise we are missing the boat. Their walk in life with God by their side can easily be recognized in my own life in similarities on how God always provides for our needs...for the Sorbo's, it was producing the movie, "Let Their Be Light". Let's face it, God will move for us when we seek his will and life. I enjoyed the big guys [Mr Hercules/Kevin Sorbo] humor and an added bonus is Kevin and Sam were the actual narrators. I highly recommend this if you enjoy the Christian movie industry, want to be uplifted in general, and learn what God is doing in other people's lives. You will not be disappointed.

From Kevin’s health issues, to conception issues including a miscarriage, to Hollywood and concerns over political correctness, and closing with Faith based projects you hear them speak candidly about the issues and their challenges.

A great follow up to Kevin’s book ‘True Strength’.

The Sorbo’s chronicle their faith.
