I don’t think I can do these type of stories anymore 😭 and I think it’s just a me thing because the story is good but the whole situation and Jenna’s way of thinking just pissed me off so bad and I couldn’t stand it I was yelling out loud the entire time. I KNOW I KNOW it was different times and all that but eff your parents and eff your family girl you do you. You don’t need them because you’re not going to have them anyways being stuck in some other house. Like I said it was good it was just frustrating as heck to listen to… BUT she does redeem herself in the end when she sticks with her gut so overall I say 5.

For the past 5 years, I have been on a historical romance novel "kick". 98% of what I read is this genre- Focusing on regency England. Maya Banks and this novel are easily in my top 10 of at least 1500 novels.

If you know anything about this period in England, one will realize that an unmarried woman would never approach a man to teach her lovemaking skills; however, it works. Plot had just enough tension to make reading Until Midnight enjoyable for a few hours.

Suspend Belief!

I liked it, it was the slight bit of angst I was looking for. The heroine was a good mix of demure and assertive. The hero was a good mix of grumpy and sunshine. The characters felt more human than tropes. And the heroines family was very believable.

The falling in love was too fast for my liking, but such is the genre. Unless we want books 24 hours long.

All in all great. The narrator was surprisingly adept at a female voice, and his male voices were just diverse enough I was never confused who was speaking.
