Young Linguists lets kids learn essential Vietnamese language skills fast. That means short lessons to help kids stay engaged and daily repetition to reinforce learning. We also narrow down vocabulary to the most used words and phrases so that you are learning what you can apply.

These books also included detailed sections on English on effective strategies for learning new languages and ideas to carry on learning and applying what you know once the course is complete. In addition, there are complete review sections for learning, comprehension and speaking repetition. This is a complete language course to get your child proficient in a new language in just four weeks.

Over 300 different words and phrases are included across 29 different themes and sections including the key building blocks of greetings, adjectives, quantities, questions, responses, colors, places, emotions, time, food, transport, animals, positions, and multiple sentence construction examples.

This isn't really "for kids" as much as it's just a bunch of basic Vietnamese sentences next to their English translation. They also throw in some fairly inconsequential facts about world languages spoken in English between the lessons. There are some issues in chapter 12; the translations do not match many of the sentences. Overall it's straightforward (although not particularly creative) input using the translation method. Fine for people with some exposure to beginner Vietnamese as supplemental material, I'd say. Vietnamese is in the northern accent for those who are interested.
