After a few long and peaceful centuries, a prosperous colony of earthlings began to forget what violations of the laws of survival could lead to. But evil is incredibly tenacious. It can wake up at the most unexpected moment, and heroes have to stand up again to protect the remnants of civilization in the distant constellation of Lyra.

In addition to new genetically modified races, a whole group of loaders now live in the colony. A “loader” is artificial intelligence in symbiosis with the human organism. They can still fall in love and clearly distinguish between good and evil. Does this make them human, or is it the ability to create something new?

Some scholars call loaders Homo Deus.

In book 3, a genderqueer loader, Vist, keeps fighting against the evil that finds new ways to manipulate people’s minds.

This audiobook is an absolute gem for fans of science fiction with depth and imagination. The world-building is phenomenalcenturies of peace shattered by the reawakening of evil, all set in the distant constellation of Lyra. The concept of “loaders,” human AI symbiotes who can still love, create, and discern good from evil, adds a fascinating layer of moral and philosophical questions. Are they truly human, or something even greater?

The narration is engaging and brings every moment to life, from the pulse pounding conflicts to the quieter reflections on survival and identity. The balance between action, futuristic technology, and thoughtful exploration of humanity’s future makes this story stand out.

If you enjoy sci-fi that doesn’t just entertain but also challenges you to think about what it means to be human, this is a must-listen. I was hooked from the very beginning and didn’t want it to end. Highly recommend!

This book pulls you in from page one and doesn’t let up...the kind of near-future sci-fi that entertains while quietly poking at how stories and media shape what we believe. Vist remains a standout lead: unique, conflicted, and impossible to look away from.
Each chapter deepens the world and ratchets tension, and the voice gives the story real energy. You can jump in here, but the payoffs land harder if you’ve read the earlier books. Overall...great book.
