In France, the simple act of eating bread is an exercise in creative problem solving, and attempting to spell requires a degree of masochism. But that's just how the French like it - and in WTF?!, Olivier Magny reveals the France only the French know. From the latest trends in baby names to the religiously observed division of church and state, prepare yourself for an insider's look at French culture that is surprising, insightful, and chock full of bons mots.

Hysterically funny! I’m going to listen to this one again. And I have recommended it to all my fellow Francophiles.

Absolutely fantastic read!

The author is unapologetically critical of issues he believe France is wrestling with right now, and depending on how comfortable you are with right wing politics, you will like it to different degrees. But I urge you to put biases aside, because whenever Olivier decided to skimp on politics, this book is hilarious and extremely rich in cultural niches you otherwise won’t learn without dating a French person.

Very informative, political bias aside

I was delighted with many of the observations in the book, particularly in the beginning. But then midway through, the book became angry, and the more I listened, the more I felt like I was listening to some Le Pen speech. No thanks.

Right wing propaganda thinly veiled as culture
