ONE SHIP. ONE DISCOVERY. NO GOING BACK.

Overseeing a mining operation in the middle of nowhere on a warship with more bark than bite, Captain Frank Olsen has a problem.

A chance discovery has suddenly thrown his dig into the galactic spotlight and every power in the region, both friend and foe, is descending on Olsen's location.

It's soon clear that what they've found isn't just a curiosity. It's something far more sinister.

As Olsen struggles to hold the line, a new alien race appears and the balance of power in the galaxy begins to shift.

With time running out and help light-years away, it's up to Olsen, his aging ship and an inexperienced crew to stop a disaster that threatens to wipe out humanity.

AI voices and computer generation of action is good . Love having all five books at one time to understand the theme .

Gripping action and fun read

The AI narrative lacked consistency in pronunciation, especially of proper nouns, abbreviations, and military nomenclature. The story was decent and a good listen otherwise.

Poor AI

For some reason, even though this is stating a complete series is not at least you hanging with unknown direction begging for another book to continue

In spite of the title it is not a complete complete series and leaves a lot of threads hanging and needs another book

Decent story but the virtual narration ruined it. Some virtual narrations haven't been bad but this one had virtually no emotion and one voice for all characters. Gladly it was an included title and not a credit. If you can get past the voice, the bookset is worth a listen.

Story vs Virtual Narrator

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

The virtual voice concept sounds like a good idea, but in practice its awful. There is ZERO emotion in the voices. All of characters sound the same. Several times mistakes in pronunciation were made that went uncorrected by the editors and producers.

Horrible narration
