Andre Norton enthralled readers for decades with thrilling tales of people challenged to the limits of their endurance in epic battles of good against evil. None are more memorable than her Witch World novels.

The Kolder linger on, a constant threat to Simon and the witches he's sworn to protect. To save their world from this threat from another dimension, Simon and Jaelithe must venture to the heart of the poisonous Kolder realm and vanquish them for good, or witness the enslavement of their world.

i loved this book at 13 years of age. now very adult, the pleasures of the gate concept, and romanic love of the noblest kind still enthralls me. the voice actor is a gofted interpreter of her writing and brings an added level just reading.

Norton never disappoints.

Part Il of the Witchworld Trilogy. I enjoyed it as much as the first. Nick Pohdel is my favorite narrator. I go out of my way to find stories he performs.

A wonderful yarn, spun by a gifted storyteller

What made the experience of listening to Web of the Witch World the most enjoyable?

author Andre Norton and Nick Podehl as reader. I have read this book for 45 years, only hearing it in my head or my own voice as I read it to children 10 and up. Nick made it come alive as if new and yet I could follow whole paragraphs in my own memory. My book is old, yellowed and book cover simple and color wiped by many thumb swipes. The print is small and my eyes are old, and tire easily. But Nick's voice keeps me focused, so enjoyable. Now I know why the children never yawned, it was because a voice makes it real, alive, the colors bright. I will collect as many unabridged of Andre Norton as possible. Odd, I never thought I could hear my favorites like the radio stations while ironing, sewing, or quilting. You have made me very happy. I look forward to each month gathering another favorite, All I have to do is look at my book shelves and check which books you have that match. Then my world is ageless again. My mind back when I was a teenager and found this series.I thank you.

What did you like best about this story?

The reader, Nick Podehl, the inflection in his voice suggesting memories, real time happenings. The author Andre Norton, so talented, with so long a history of triumph and more than one series that the public refuse to let pass into history. You live through this book. You close your eyes and you are no longer here but where she has sent you.

Which character – as performed by Nick Podehl – was your favorite?

Simon as this is truly his story and Nick made him so real in emotion, strength and intelligence..... just as he was written.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It actually caught me worrying, sharing excitement and even sadness and I have read this for decades. Perfect performance by Nick, perfect story by Andre Norton, perfect escapism for one who is so tired but now can again relive a great story.

Any additional comments?

All her witchworld series should be available and unabridged. It is worth it. This book is for 10-y-o yo at least 60-y-o. and I would know. Listen to a sample, buy it for a book you can listen to with your children and grandchildren.

more than I could have ever hoped for

As with all Norton books I feel that I am on a journey. I love traveling with Simon as he defends Es and learns to trust and communicate with his witch. I continually am amazed at how Norton can perfectly portray relationships. Truly a master author.

Great story
