Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.
When a frightened mother asks woodsman and tracker Tye Caine to find her missing son, he can’t say no.

The search takes him deep into the wilderness of the Cascade Mountains, where he finds a group of people who want to live a wild life. The only catch is one of them might be a killer.

If that wasn’t complicated enough, he sees visions of people he knows are dead.

Soon he finds himself on the run with no gear, no supplies, and no options. That’s familiar territory for Tye, but this time he’s terrified that any mistake will cost him the woman he loves.

If you couldn’t wait to finish Primitive Weapons, if you binge-watch survival shows, if you love a good mystery with a hint of the supernatural, buy Wild Mind today.

I made it halfway through this virtual voice audio and couldn't go any farther. I tried, I really tried, but the mispronunciation of so many words turned me away. The audio editor may be able to correct one word, but when there are several instances of the exact words that remain pronounced wrong, someone is not doing the editing job correctly. I don't usually mind virtual voice, but this one just didn't cut it. I enjoyed the first two books by this author that I heard, but this one was basically full of shoe leather scenes (i.e., where the character simply walked through the scene/chapter filling space) and added no real substance to the story. I doubt I will try any more of these audios for these reasons. Maybe, in time, the quality will improve.
