Maddix Ripley is a natural born killer. Or at least that’s how she sees it. The book plays on the idea of 'good' and 'evil' and provides complexity with flawed love, tragic events, emotional baggage, trust issues, and a curiosity for the feeling of belonging.

The book's characters are not only written as well-rounded but the actor pulled a lot of punches creating different voices and accents for the characters. Highly impressive!

Though this book isn't exactly my cup of tea genre wise I am glad I listened to it because it was quite interesting.

Go ahead, I dare you to listen to it, too!

The story and dialogue quite course to my taste, especially when dialogue has strings of profanity. Very interesting and fanciful action story, with great narration with myriad voices and sound effects from Eowyn Sky.

Story: Very engaging and entertaining! The author presents the story from alternate viewpoints at certain times that adds to the richness of the plot. The characters are realistically flawed and relatable. I enjoyed the challenges and adventures that the characters faced, and the storyline kept me engaged and interested. I now want to listen to Heller’s other two books. Note: The story contains adult situations and language, and parents may want to preview the story first.

Narration: Eowyn should receive an Oscar-equivalent Audible award for her narration! Her intonations, voice inflections, and accents were impressive. Eowyn narrated the voices of both female and male characters with a consistent and entertaining voice. The story included a wide variety of characters and dialogue that Eowyn delivered with the talent of an actress. It made me wonder if the reading was directed by a professional or if Eowyn was just naturally gifted. I would love to listen to other narrations that she’s done!

I thoroughly enjoy this story! Action packed with memorable characters in a very cool supernatural world. Eowyn's narration took this book to superior level! Her performance made the images pop just like I was watching a movie! She needs to narrate this whole series!
