As storm clouds of war gather over Europe, Grace Fitzgerald in Ireland and Richard Lewis in the United States find their lives irrevocably altered by the looming conflict.

Ireland's neutrality offers little shelter from the war's far-reaching impact, and across the Atlantic, Richard witnesses a nation divided on intervention. Meanwhile, in sleepy Knocknashee, a twelve-year-old mystery surrounding a stolen child resurfaces, shattering long-held beliefs.

Fate seems determined to keep Grace and Richard apart, thwarting their plans to meet, and the vast Atlantic is not the only thing separating them. From the gentle green hills of Ireland, to the busy newspaper rooms of New York, from a London bracing for war to a Paris on the brink of invasion, Yesterday's Paper continues the sweeping saga of Grace and Richard as they navigate love, loss, and the turbulent tides of history.

In this gripping tale of resilience and romance, the personal and the political collide, weaving an unforgettable tapestry of lives caught in the crosswinds of a world at war.

I love how Jean Grainger connects her characters with historical events and makes you feel as though you are there in Ireland.

Once again, volume 2 features the compelling characters we met in Lavendar ink book 1... I loved both books and am eager to listen to the next 3 titles. I cannot' waif to get them. Jean Grainger quickly became a favorite author of mine so I highly recommend this series. You will love it as well as any other of her books.

I hated for this book to end because I want to hear what happens next. The story and characters are great and the audio performance is spectacular. I love the use of different languages (Irish, French, German). I have studied them all so I enjoyed hearing the different languages and accents. The American accent in French is hilariously cringeworthy but pretty much spot on accurate. I always hope my accent is better but probably not! LOL. Kudos to Caroline Lennon for the wonderful voice work for so many characters and accents. The audio performance truly brings the characters to life. I hope we don’t need to wait too long for more stories in this series. The last words provide a cliffhanger in German! I am holding my breath…

Can’t wait for next in the series!

This book is so intriguing and captured my imagination so much. There were also points that resonated with current (Feb 2025) events in America. Worth the read!
