NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Fall in love all over again with Oliver’s story in the hotly-anticipated companion novel to bestselling sensation You’ve Reached Sam.

“A captivating and gorgeously written story about longing, destiny, and the infinite possibilities, and versions, of love. No one writes romance like Dustin Thao and this one is a beauty.” —Kathleen Glasgow, #1 bestselling author of Girl in Pieces

It’s been a year since his best friend, Sam, died. Even though Oliver knows he won’t get a response, he can’t stop texting Sam’s number, especially as the anniversary of his death approaches.

Then one day he accidentally hits the call button, and someone picks up.

The voice on the other end isn’t Sam. Sam’s number was reassigned and a stranger has been receiving Oliver’s private and vulnerable messages for months. But Ben, a college student in Seattle, won’t remain a stranger for long. When they finally meet in person, their spark is undeniable. Everything seems perfect until Oliver discovers something strange might be keeping them apart.

Dustin Thao’s star-crossed return to Ellensburg, WA is a sliding-doors romance sure to break your heart wide open.

It was beautiful, just Nolan being a perk. Mostly, I wanted to punch him in the face for cheating on Oliver. If I were in the book, I'd punch him

The fact that Ben didn't remember him was so sad😭

You’ve Found Oliver leans into grief as both mystery and emotional weight, following a narrator suspended between memory, guilt, and unanswered questions. Thao writes with restraint, letting absence and silence do much of the work as the story circles around loss rather than rushing toward resolution. The structure is compelling, though at times the emotional beats feel deliberately muted, creating distance where deeper catharsis seems just within reach. Still, the themes of love, regret, and the stories we tell ourselves after tragedy are handled with care and seriousness. It’s a thoughtful, aching novel that values emotional honesty over easy closure, even when that choice leaves a lingering sense of incompleteness.

I found the book to be incredibly sweet and enjoyable. The concept and paradigm that the protagonist encountered were intriguing and presented a fresh perspective that I hadn’t come across before. Although it took a while to reach the end, the conclusion felt satisfying and logical. However, I would have appreciated a bit more explanation. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

Intriguing concept and a good read!
