❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Q: Why are my gut symptoms still a problem even though my doctor said everything looks fine?

A: Common does not mean normal. Chronic bloating, persistent reflux, and irregular bowel habits are signals your body is sending. These are frequently dismissed as stress or just part of life, but many treatable conditions go undiagnosed for years without the right evaluation. (01:34)

Q: Why can't I just take supplements to fix my gut problems?

A: If you do not know what is actually causing your symptoms, no supplement can fix it. Taking probiotics or gut powders without a diagnosis is an expensive guessing game. Even evidence-based supplements only work when they match a specific diagnosed condition. The first step is identifying what you actually have. (03:15)

Q: Are probiotics actually worth taking for gut health?

A: Probiotics are condition-specific. Certain strains help with antibiotic-associated diarrhea or specific IBS patterns. But for most people, a generic probiotic off the shelf has weak evidence of benefit. In some cases, adding bacteria to an already disrupted gut makes symptoms worse. A probiotic should match a diagnosed condition, not replace the diagnosis. (05:27)

Q: How much fiber do I need and why does it matter for gut health?

A: The recommended range is 25 to 40 grams of fiber daily from a variety of sources. Fiber feeds beneficial gut bacteria, supports bowel regularity, and is associated with lower risk of colorectal cancer, heart disease, and metabolic disease. Most people eat far less than they need, and from too few plant sources. Variety matters as much as volume. (07:01)

Q: When should I get a colonoscopy and what does it actually prevent?

A: Current guidelines recommend colonoscopy screening starting at age 45 for average-risk individuals, and earlier if a first-degree relative had colon cancer or polyps. A colonoscopy does not just detect cancer early. It finds and removes precancerous polyps before they ever become dangerous. Skipping the procedure is the number one reason people develop colorectal cancer that could have been stopped. (09:13)
