Hi, I’m Dax Shepard, and I love talking to people. I am endlessly fascinated by the messiness of being human, and I find people who are vulnerable and honest about their struggles and shortcomings to be incredibly sexy. I invite you to join me as I explore other people’s stories. We will celebrate, above all, the challenges and setbacks that ultimately lead to growth and betterment. What qualifies me for such an endeavor? More than a decade of sobriety, a degree in Anthropology and four years of improv training. I will attempt to discover human “truths” without any laboratory work, clinical trials or data collection. I will be, in the great tradition of 16th-century scientists, an Armchair Expert.

David and Dax talk about how the immersion and rules of video games amid the chaos of his life became the precursor to his research today, ending up in a series of group foster homes for several years, and his dream of going to college functioning as a protective shield for his future self. David explains being orphaned by the living while in foster care, the elation of receiving a full ride to Carnegie Mellon to study computer science, and the deep learning neural network research he now leads at Stanford.

I don't dislike this show at all. he seem to ask all the questions. I want to ask about a personality that I'm interested in. I definitely will be. Listening to more episodes. . I especially like the episode of Jeff Bridges. Keep up the good work Dax. Love your car movie. You shouldn't be allowed to own those cool cars.

SO HAPPY AE is now available here! Such a a fun podcast. Entertaining AND can be educational. Dax and Monica have open minds and seem to like learning new things about how and why people do what they do. Their relationship is serious and sweet. I've been listening to this podcast from day one and have even gone to one of their first in person shows. Highly recommend!
