The narrator for the second part was a horrible choice for these characters, his choice of accents for the characters was distracting for me and made the experience less enjoyable. I had purchased the first few books but after the narrator was changed I stopped after the first one he did. If not for it being made into a free podcast I was resigned to abandoning the series.

Good story but.....,

The plot twist right at the start had me hooked. Humanity is so desperate that they are willing and able to destroy itself.

Dna based warfare

The storyline is pretty dang good. However the writing does get lazy every now and again.
The male narrator that does the later half of the series is not great. He made Terrell, an African American Delta Force member sound like Dracula with a toothache, Clara sound like a screechy harridan, and a Mexican cartel member sound like an Aussie. And Rodriguez, a Mexican cartel member sounds like a member of Dracula’s band. As well as several US military members that have foreign accents, mainly a Scottish one and I can’t remember the other off the top of my head. I just really do not understand his choices and it’s really distracting and pulls a person out of the story. I would have given the series four stars if not for the male narrator. I am sure that there are narration choices that he would be perfect for, but it wasn’t this.

Decent storyline

This podcast is addicting! One of the best audible podcast series for the zombie apocalyptic genre that I have listened to. The author tells the story of the downfall of society while showing that people can still have humanity.

Not like the other zombie stories!

I tried, I really tried. But I could not figure out why, in a series based in the United States, all the characters had various European accents with the exception of a couple. I just couldn’t get my head around it. I probably listened to 15 minutes, try again listened for an hour, and then just had to hang it up unread.

Why British Accents?
