The mind loves to make up a good story because it keeps you distracted from being able to heal the trauma. It's not that the mind wants to hurt you. The mind is just trying to protect you from more pain by keeping you insulated using the existing pain.

In this episode, I'm talking about the stories of blame, shame, guilt, and victimization. I'm sharing why we do these things to ourselves and how to stop. Controlling the mind simply means not allowing the mind to be a runaway train. We can learn to get control of the mind by questioning what the mind is offering and taking away the mind's audience. Who's the audience? Ourselves. The mind wants an audience and you're it, so when you take that away the mind will change the subject to try to get your attention.
